ALDEBURGH

Today's weather: A lovely sunny day but very cold.

Aldeburgh, a lovely seaside town with a 16th century Moot Hall, and fishing boats which launch from the beach and where there catches can be bought directly from huts on the beach.

Old Lookout post

One of the two old coastguard lookouts on the beach, this one now houses the RNLI's Inshore lifeboat.

Moot Hall from the south

The 16th Century Moot Hall, probably the most photographed and painted building in Aldeburgh, it now houses a small museum and is the meeting place for the town council.

Moot Hall

The Moot Hall once stood in the centre of the town but due to coastal erosion over hundreds of years it now stands only yards from the beach.

Houses on the seafront

some of the colourful houses that line the seafront.

Old Customs House

The Old Customs House in the high street.

Aldeburgh High Street

Aldeburgh's High Street.

The Town Steps

The Town Steps built in the late 18th century to join the older parts of Aldeburgh that were being lost to the sea with the newer and safer parts of the town.

Roof tops

From the top of the steps you can see a myriad of rooftops from some of Aldeburgh's older buildings.

England's smallest house?

This building looking more like dolls house and named Fantasia claims to be one of the smallest houses in England.
