SATURDAY 28th APRIL 2001
BECCLES
Today`s weather : Sunny, but with some showers

Cottages in Puddingmoor overlooking the river Waveney in the background

The Beccles tower was built in the 16th century
and was
bought by the town using a 1795 Beccles penny in 1972,
the views over the Waveney valley
from the top are stunning.

The river Waveney, looking south from the old bridge.

The river Waveney, this time looking north from the bridge.

Only one lonely holiday cruiser in the yacht station today.

Still the locals don't seem to mind, it must get pretty dangerous
when the
summer season is in full swing.

This old wall looks like it should have fallen over years ago.

This was probably an old merchant's house.

The sign on the end of the house must be old
, there probably isn't much call for
cinders nowadays, even if you could get them.

The façade of this furniture shop disguises the fact that it was once the town's cinema.
