BECCLES MARSH TRAIL

Today's weather: Warm but very overcast as you will see.

The Beccles Marsh Trails are a series of circular walks ranging from 1 1/2 to 4 miles
following the river Waveney part of the way before crossing the marshes and finishing
back in Beccles.

BECCLES YACHT STATION

The walks all start at Beccles yacht station.

RIVER WAVENEY AND RIVERBANK

Yachtsman, anglers and walkers all enjoy the river.

YACHTS TURNING AT BOUY

Surely someone must know which is the right way to go.

WHITE SAILS AGAINST DARK SKIES

How the white sails show up against the dark sky.

FIELD OF SHEEP

How nice in these troubled times with the foot and mouth epidemic to see a field of
sheep grazing peacefully. Luckily Suffolk has been spared what the rest of the country
has be going through and has not had a single case, hopefully the rest of the country
will soon be able to see scenes like this again.

6 MPH SIGN

How nice in this age of speed to only be able to travel at a sedately 6 mph.

BOAT PASSING HOUSE

Such an absolutely idyllic place to live when the only things passing your front door
are boats travelling at 6 mph.

TUNNEL OF GREENERY

A tunnel of trees and bushes, the paths very slippery here due to all the recent wet weather.

TURNING AWAY FROM THE RIVER

At this point we turn away from the river and follow the path across the marsh back into
Beccles.

THE HARBOUR INN

The path widens into a track as it gets nearer to Beccles.

BECCLES FOOTBRIDGE

And so we arrive back at Beccles yacht station, and only just in time if the darkening skies
are anything to go by.
