DEBENHAM

Today's weather: A lovely spring like day, sunny and quite warm.

Debenham is a beautiful village nestling in the heart of Suffolk containing an array of historic and colourful buildings covering many periods of history.

Looking up towards the High street

Looking up towards the High Street, the houses in the centre of the picture are newly built but still manage to blend in with the older houses.

Foresters Hall

This elegant building built c1905 was once the Ancient Order of Foresters hall but is now used as a bathroom showroom, such a shame.

St Mary Magdalene church

St Mary Magdalene church.

Tudor building

Debenham has many different styles of building covering many periods; this house is from the Tudor period.

Looking down the High Street

A view looking down the High Street showing the different colours of the buildings.

Archway

Quite a few of the building have passageways through them like this one allowing access to courtyards.

Pink House

Another different style and colour to this building, the left hand one is for sale but judging by other houses in the estate agents window would probably cost in excess of £200.000.

Side view of church

At some time in the past a very large repair has been done to the side of the church unusually using bricks instead of the original material.

Unusual shaped house

The shape of this old house seems to defy belief.

Front of unusual shaped house

The front of the house looks very precarious but it's probably been standing here for hundreds of years.

The Teapot Pottery

Another unusually shaped and coloured building this one is "Carter's Teapot Pottery".
