EASTON FARM PARK

Today's weather: A lovely sunny and warm day.

Easton Farm Park is set in the Suffolk countryside close to Wickhan Market. It’s a great place to spend a day amongst the animals, some of which roam freely; others include rare breeds like the magnificent Suffolk Punch heavy horses and Gloucester Old Spot pigs. The farm retains many of its original Victorian buildings including a lovely octagonal Dairy

Blacksmith's shop

The working Blacksmiths shop. The metal disc in front of the building is where the metal rims would have been shrunk onto the wooden wheels.

Small Goats

These little goats seen to think they're mountain goats.

The Dairy

The old octagonal Victorian Dairy.

Inside the Dairy

Inside the Dairy all manner of items are on display that would have been used in the making of butter and other dairy products.

Chicken

For this chicken anytime is feeding time as its learnt how to use this automatic feeder, by pecking at the yellow bar it releases food whenever it feels like it...

Getting Dinner

Unlike this goat that has to work hard and stretch to get the best leaves.

Main green

The main green at the farm complete with fountain, a great place for a picnic.

Two Suffolk Punch horses

Two magnificent Suffolk Punch heavy horses, the Suffolk breed is the oldest native heavy horse breed in the country dating back to 1506 and they are always chestnut in colour albeit in 7 different shades. They weigh in at between ¾ and 1 tonne, about the same as a small family car.

Gloucester old spot pigs

Another of the rare breeds at the farm is the Gloucester Old Spot pig, it the 1970s there were only 13 registered boars in the country, although there are many more today they are still classed as a rare breed.
