27th GRAND HENHAM STEAM RALLY

TRACTION ENGINES WITH STEAM UP

A row of traction engines and road rollers all with steam up waiting to parade in the
grand ring.

STEAM ENGINE

A 1909 Foden Road Locomotive No1294 being used to power a rack sawbench .

 

LOG SAWING DEMONSTRATION

A demonstration of log sawing using a circa 1881 Rack Sawbench, note the size of
the teeth on the saw blade.

 

A PAIR OF RESTORED TRACTORS

A pair of fully restored Field Marshall tractors.

 

TRACTOR

A Fordson Power Major tractor parading in the ring, in excess of 100 tractors were on
display at the rally.

 

STEAM WAGON

"The Old Man" A pre-1920 Sentinal Standard Steam Wagon, the wagon was actually built using parts from three early standard Sentinals, the earliest being 1907.

 

SMALL SCALE TRACTION ENGINE

This may look like a full size traction engine but is in fact a fully working model standing about 4 foot high.

 

MODEL DRAGLINE

A fully working model of a Rapier Dragline.

 

MODELS OF GISPY CARAVANS

Smaller models were on display in the model tent, these exquisite models must have
taken many hundreds of hours to build.
