GRAND HENHAM STEAM RALLY 2004

Today's weather: A bright and sunny weekend.

2004 sees the 30th Grand Henham Steam Rally returning to Suffolk and a new home at Benacre Hall and Park after having to move out of the county last year due to the sale of the Henham estate, the rallies home for many years.

 

Old Lorries

The pair of restored lorries dating from the 1950s.

Big boy’s toys and a little boys envy.


Cleaning the engine

It’s never to early to get the children helping to keep the engine clean and polished.


Steam gallopers

A beautifully restored 1895 Savage 3 abreast Steam Galloper.


Field Marshall tractor

A Field Marshall tractor about to enter the parade ring.


Unusual tractor

A 1947 Trusty Steed tractor, surely one of the more unusual tractors in the show.


Horizontal saw

Built around 1900, this Horizontal Frame Saw was originally powered by a waterwheel at Llangdwym Mill in Wales.


Dodge truck

A lovingly restored Dodge truck.


Stationary engine

A bit of TLC being given to this lovely little stationary engine.


Pipe band

Members of the Glenmoriston Pipe Band looking resplendent in their tartan uniforms. The band was formed in 1979 and is based in Suffolk.
