LOWESTOFT

Today's weather: A dull and cold day with only a few bright spells.

A few pictures this week from a short walk around Lowestoft.

High Street

Saturday afternoon and the High Street is deserted, the building on the left is the Town Hall.

Lighthouse

Lowestoft Lighthouse.

Trees in Belle Vue park

Such a lovely array of autumn colours in Belle Vue Park.

War Memorial

The Royal Naval Patrol Service war memorial in Belle Vue Park, a poignant reminder that this Sunday is Remembrance Day.

Jubilee Bridge

Opened in 1887, Jubilee Bridge in Belle Vue Park was presented to the town by the first mayor of Lowestoft William Youngman in commemoration of the jubilee of Queen Victoria.

Old Anchors

Over the years many old anchors have been dredged up off the coast, some have been placed on display here.

Sea defence work

Sea defence work being undertaken in readiness for the winter storms.

Digger on the beach

Rocks being moved by digger, the rocks are so heavy that only about six arrive in each lorry load.

Ness Point

Ness Point, the most easterly point in the British Isles, not a lot to write home about.
