LOWESTOFT
Today's weather:Dull and overcast for most of the
weekend with a few showers
but by Sunday the sun finally began to shine.
Much seems to be happening in Lowestoft this weekend, early on Friday morning the latest offshore platform built at the SLP construction yard started it final journey, its quite a feat manoeuvring such a large barge out through the pier heads, there's very little room for error! Also starting on Friday was a Continental Market with traders from around Europe selling there wares ranging from French Garlic to pottery from Turkey , and as if that wasn't enough the Circus also came to town. |

It was a misty and murky early morning when the barge containing the two halves of the platform was manoeuvred into the outer harbour by four tugs to begin its final journey. |
..
When the barge reaches its destination the base of the platform will be lifted off and anchored to the seabed then the upper section will be lifted into place by a huge floating crane. |

Not many people around the Onion and Garlic stall even the girl serving is standing well away! |

Some of the other stalls selling everything from shoes to basket ware. |

This French bread stall is a favourite with many people. |

A nice display of Nougat on this stall. |

This stall from Corsica specialised in different varieties of sausage made from wild boar. |

There are plenty of differant plants and flowers to choose from here. |

On my way down to the seafront the bridge opened…. |

To let these yachts pass through. |

Including this lovely old sailing ship. |

The circus big top that by tomorrow will have been taken down and be on its way to the next venue. |
