LOWESTOFT HARBOUR AND SEAFRONT

Today's weather: Dull and wet.

 

Miserable weather today, so I've posted a few photographs of Lowestoft harbour and
seafront taken earlier in the week when the weather was better.

 

LOWESTOFT YACHT MARINA

Lowestoft yacht marina.

 

GUILDHALL

Lowestoft's lifeboat "The Spirit of Lowestoft" must be away for repairs or a refit at the moment as this is a reserve lifeboat.

 

LOWESTOFT TRAWLER MINCARLO

The "Mincarlo" is the last surviving Lowestoft built and engined side-fishing trawler, she was built in 1960 she and after a varied history including conversion to a oil rig standby vessel is now fully restored and on display in the harbour.

 

LOWESTOFT PIER HEADS

Lowestoft pierheads, looking out onto a dead calm sea.

 

GAS RIG STANDBY SHIPS

More modern and purpose built rig standby ships.

 

CHURCH & GUILDHALL FROM CASTLE

Quite a few people enjoying a drink and lunch in the autumn sunshine including the
obligitory seaside fish and chips!.

 

EAST POINT PAVILION

The East Point Pavilion Lowestoft's tourist information centre, cafe and childrens play area.

 

LOWESTOFT BEACH

Although a warm September day only a couple of people were brave enough to venture into the water for a paddle.

A dramatic looking evening sky over the inner harbour.
