LOWESTOFT, NORTH BEACH
Today's weather: A sunny day with a bitterly cold easterly wind.

Strong easterly winds make for very rough seas. |

This may look like Lowestoft's newest tourist attraction but unfortunately it's only part of a new water treatment works being built close to Ness Point. |

The Euroscope at Ness point, has a circle of plaques showing mileages to various points in the British Isles and Europe. |

This plaque on the Euroscope shows that Lowestoft is the most easterly town in the British Isles. |
..
These plaques show that as the crow flies Lowestoft lies 465 miles from Dunnet Head the most northerly point and 352 miles from the Lizard the most southerly point in the British Isles. |

Hardly anyone to be seen on the sea wall or the beach today. |

But what ever the conditions there's usually a few fishermen on the beach. |

Lowestoft's lighthouse. |

A ship making for the safety of the harbour. |

On reaching the harbour mouth she has to line up her entry precisely in order not to hit the pier heads. |

At this point it looks as if she is going to hit the pier. |

But after a rough time at sea she manages to enter harbour safely. |
