OULTON BROAD
Today's weather: A very sunny hot day.
This week I've taken to the water for a pleasure cruise on Oulton Broad that also takes in Oulton dyke and part of the River Waveney heading towards Beccles. |

View from the upper deck of the boat with the almost obligatory England flag and Union flag. |

Whilst waiting to leave the footbridge and the lock opened.... |

To let this cruiser pass onto Oulton Broad from Lake Lothing. |

The old Maltings, which have now been turned into luxury apartments, where 1-bedroom apartments sell for close to £100,000. |

Looking up Oulton Dyke, unlike most of the Norfolk Broads, which are manmade Oulton Broad is natural and was separated from the river Waveney so the dyke was cut to join the two together. |

A yacht tacking across the river. |

Even river junctions need signs to point the way. |

The skipper of this yacht looked worried when we came up astern but at this point we turned around for the return journey back to Oulton Broad . |

A pair of Swans with their young cygnets, note that one of the young cygnets is riding on the back of its mother or father. |

On the return journey the river seemed to get busy with all shapes and sizes of craft heading to and from Oulton Broad. |

Yachts racing on the Broad. |

Almost back to where we started with the Wherry Hotel looming large. |
