PIN MILL

Today's weather: Sunny and hot, but a little hazy.

 

Pin Mill is situated on the River Orwell a few miles east of Ipswich.

THE ROAD LEADING TO THE FORESHORE

THE BUTT AND OYSTER PUBLIC HOUSE

The Butt & Oyster is a 17th century public house with strong smuggling connections and
was used in a number of Arthur Ransome's books.

Old barges, their useful working lifes over they are just left to rot away, some however are converted into houseboats and lived on behind the Butt and Oyster pub.
