A WALK AROUND SOUTHWOLD HARBOUR
Today's weather: Sunny with a cool sea breeze.
.

Looking towards Southwold harbour, in the
distance can be seen the 2 nuclear power
stations at Sizewell.

Looking back towards Southwold with the lighthouse towering over the town.

A racing yacht leaving the harbour to take advantage of the good breeze.

The lifeboat museum
building has a historical importance of it's own, it was the old Cromer
lifeboat shed and was
built in 1923 on the end of Cromer pier, it was removed in 1997
when a new shed was built, it was taken by
sea to Lowestoft where it was stored until
it was aquired by the trust to house the old Southwold lifeboat
'Alfred Corry' which was
built in 1893.

This little ferry takes passangers across the river
to Walberswick. The ferryman
ferryperson is the young lady in the bow

She has to be quite strong when you see how many people she has to row across the river.

Fishermen's sheds

11am and today's catch is already on sale, that's fresh!.

Fishing boats at their moorings, some have already been to sea today.

The 'Harbour Inn' a lovely place to enjoy sunday lunch.

But not if you were here in 1953!.
