Sproughton stands close to the industrial part of Ipswich only being separated by the main A14 trunk road and because of this it has been able to maintain its small village character. It has a watermill, as do many of the other villages that stand alongside the River Gipping that runs from Ipswich in the east to Stowmarket in the west. |
