TALL SHIPS IN LOWESTOFT

I was unable to take any photos this weekend, so I am posting some photos
I took a few weeks ago, but was unable to post at the time.

Lowestoft awoke one morning in May to find itself playing host to 17 tall ships from Holland.
The ships were all crewed by Dutch students and should have been heading for Ramsgate
in Kent, but due to prevailing winds would have been unable to reach their destination, so
the decision was made to head for Lowestoft instead. They stayed for a couple of days
before racing back to Holland.

EXCELISOR

This ship which also joined the race is the restored Lowestoft sailing smack "EXCELSIOR".
Little did she know that she would be sailing into her home port.
