Theberton is a small village located on the road from Yoxford and
Leiston and it was here on the night of 17th June 1917 that a German Zeppelin
airship L48 which had be raiding the area was shot down with the loss of 16
members of it's crew. |

The 16 crewmen killed when the German Zeppelin crashed in 1917 were originally buried here in the churches graveyard but they were later reburied in the German military cemetery at Cannock Chase in Staffordshire. |
