WALBERSWICK VILLAGE

 

Terrible weather this weekend, so I'm posting some photographs of Walberswick village taken a few weeks ago.

 

THE BELL INN

The 600-year-old Bell Inn stands near the centre of the village close to both the
harbour and the village green.

 

VILLAGE GREEN

HORSE MADE FROM OLD CAR TYRE

Can anyone guess what this horse if made out of..? Yes it's an old car tyre.

 

RESTAURANT AND ANTIQUE SHOPS

Restaurants and antique shops attract many visitors to the village, even at this
time of year.

 

VILLAGE SEAT

Even the village seat has a lovely thatched roof.

 

VIEW LOOKING UP THE MAIN STREET

Looking up the main street towards the church.

 

OLD COTTAGE

This lovely old cottage stands in the main street, built in 1785 it must have seen many changes to the village.

 

ST ANDREWS CHURCH

The present day church of St Andrew was built in the 18th century within the ruins of a much larger and grander 15th century church, which fell into disrepair when the village went into decline in the 16th century.
